Before a telephoto lens is purchased, the crop factor of the camera should be known. For example, there is a Canon digital SLR camera where there is no full-frame sensor and these have a crop factor of 1.6. The lens with a focal length of 60 millimetres would then have the same effect as the lens with a focal length of 95 millimetres which is screwed on the analogue 35 mm camera.
