After sweeping, collecting and disposing of the accumulated dirt and rubbish with a dustpan is an everyday process that hardly anyone thinks about. Manufacturers of sweeper plates or dustpans are exempt from this rule. They consider what a dustpan must be like in order to optimize the process of collecting dirt. This front edge is usually slightly sloped downwards so that the dustpan can be placed well on the floor and the dustpan swept up easily. The additional presence of a rubber lip makes the transition between the swept floor and the dustpan particularly seamless and almost airtight. Even the smallest of dust particles can thus easily reach the shovel directly
